Southwest Airlines Cargo Account Applications

Whether you're an individual or a large business, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mandates that Southwest Airlines may accept cargo weighing greater than 16 ounces from Known Shippers or TSA-approved Indirect Air Carriers only. In order to ship cargo with Southwest Airlines, you must first complete and submit an account application.

There are two different account options:

  • Billable Southwest Airlines Cargo Account (download an application in PDF format)
This account allows you to charge your shipping costs to your Southwest Airlines Cargo account. You will be invoiced monthly for your previous month's charges.
  • Shipper I.D. (Non-billable) Southwest Airlines Cargo Account (download an application in PDF format)
This type of account does not allow you to charge your shipping costs. Either the Shipper or the Consignee must pay all transaction fees at the time of departure/arrival.

Once we approve your application, we will contact you to arrange an inspection of your residence or place of business. There will be a minimum, non-refundable fee of $50 for this inspection. (This fee is mileage-based and may be higher.) Once your account is established, we will provide a Shipper ID number to you. You will need to bring this number with you when shipping with Southwest Airlines Cargo.
