Content Restrictions
While Southwest Airlines® Cargo wants to handle all your shipping needs, there are a few items that we are unable to ship and there are a few items that require advance arrangements. The respective items include, but are not limited to, the following:
Items Not Accepted for Shipment:
- Shipments likely to damage aircraft or other shipments
- Live, warm-blooded animals
- Poisonous or venomous live animals
- Money or currency of any kind
- Precious metals or jewelry (other than costume jewelry)
- Furs and any clothing with fur on it
- Hazardous materials
- Firearms
- Shipments not expressly covered by the Southwest Airlines Contract of Carriage
- Shipments not suitable for carriage
Shipments Subject to Advance Arrangements
Customers can contact our Cargo Customer Care Center at (800) 533-1222 to request advance arrangements for the following
- Shipments requiring special attention, protection, or care enroute
- Shipments or pieces of shipments of unusual shape or size
- Shipments including any liquid content
- Southwest Support shipments can be booked by calling (888) 922-9525.
